Portrait Studies

Harold Geller 2 - with signature no border jpeg(français)

Why am I so drawn to “character” studies? Why do the faces in front of my lens mesmerize me so?

I have come to realize that great portraiture is not only a privilege but takes time.  Anyone can “snap” a photo but

a great portrait becomes a bond between the photographer and the person on the other side of the lens.  A deep trust must develop.

Time opens the discussion.  Seeing and caring for the subject allows more doors (and sides of the character) to surface.

Very privileged and private work indeed!
